Private Jet to Munich: BMW World, Bavarian Alps and Oktoberfest

25 May 2025·5 min read

Munich combines the highest standard of living in Germany with immediate access to the Bavarian Alps (Berchtesgaden, Zugspitze, the Royal Neuschwanstein castles) and a cultural calendar anchored by Oktoberfest (the most attended festival in Europe). The city's industrial heritage (BMW headquarters and BMW Welt, Siemens, MAN) creates a natural UHNW clientele blend of corporate visits and leisure travel — and a service infrastructure calibrated accordingly.

Munich Airport: Private Aviation at Franz Josef Strauss

Munich Airport (MUC) — named Franz Josef Strauss International — handles private aviation through the General Aviation Terminal on the northern apron. Jet Aviation Munich and ExecuJet Europe both operate FBO services. Transfer to central Munich (Marienplatz) is approximately 45 minutes by private car; to the English Garden or Schwabing approximately 40 minutes.

An alternative for lighter jets is Augsburg Airport (AGB), 70km west of Munich, or Salzburg Airport (SZG) in Austria, 140km east — both with significantly less congestion than MUC. For clients travelling to Berchtesgaden or the Bavarian Alps directly, Salzburg is often the more logical arrival point.

BMW World, Allianz Arena and the Cultural Programme

BMW Welt (BMW World) — the extraordinary double-cone glass building adjacent to BMW's Munich headquarters — is the best-attended factory visit in the world, receiving 3 million visitors annually. Private tours of BMW Group Classic (the historical collection of BMW, Rolls-Royce, and Mini vehicles dating to 1898) and vehicle delivery programmes (the BMW Individual delivery experience) are available to private clients.

The Pinakothek museum cluster — Alte Pinakothek (European Old Masters), Neue Pinakothek (19th century), and Pinakothek der Moderne (20th-21st century, design, architecture) — represents one of Europe's most comprehensive museum programmes. The private VIP evening tour of the Alte Pinakothek (Rubens, Dürer, Raphael collection) can be arranged through FFGR Jets's cultural concierge.

Oktoberfest: The UHNW Experience

Oktoberfest (late September to early October, 16-18 days) draws 6 million visitors to the Theresienwiese. The UHNW experience bypasses the public tents entirely: private reserved sections within the traditional Schottenhammel and Käfer tents (months-in-advance reservation required, with minimum table purchase of €500-€2,000), private Oktoberfest dinners at the Käfer Wiesn-Schänke (the reference fine dining tent), and private car or helicopter access to avoid the public transport congestion.

FFGR Jets coordinates Oktoberfest travel packages including private jet arrival at Munich, hotel accommodation (the Mandarin Oriental Munich, Bayerischer Hof, and Charles Hotel are the reference properties, all requiring 12+ months advance booking for Oktoberfest dates), and tent reservations. The period from the last Thursday of September through the first Sunday of October (the main Oktoberfest weekend) is the peak demand window.

The Bavarian Alps Circuit

The Bavarian Alps are accessible in 90 minutes from central Munich by private car. Berchtesgaden — the valley town below the Königssee lake and the Eagle's Nest (Hitler's Kehlsteinhaus, now a historical site and restaurant) — is the most dramatic Alpine scenery within an hour of Munich. The Zugspitze (2,962m, Germany's highest mountain) is accessed via the Bavarian-Austrian border by cable car from Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Schloss Neuschwanstein — King Ludwig II's fantasy castle (the inspiration for Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle) — is 120km from Munich, accessible in 90 minutes by private car or 20 minutes by helicopter landing at the adjacent Schwangau area. Private after-hours castle access can occasionally be arranged for UHNW clients through the Bavarian Palace Administration. FFGR Jets builds Munich + Alps circuits combining the city cultural programme with Alpine day trips.
