Private Jet to Saint-Tropez: The Riviera's Most Exclusive Summer Destination

20 August 2025·8 min read read

Saint-Tropez's appeal is entirely paradoxical: a village of fewer than 6,000 permanent residents that, during July and August, hosts more UHNW visitors per square kilometre than any other destination on Earth. The private aviation challenge is equally paradoxical — the nearest airport is 65km away, and the final ground transfer is one of the most congested routes on the French Riviera. FFGR Jets navigates the Saint-Tropez access problem at UHNW level.

Saint-Tropez Private Aviation: Helicopter is the Only Solution

Saint-Tropez has no airport. The two private aviation access points are Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (NCE, 100km, 2-3 hours by road in summer — unacceptable for UHNW clients) and Toulon-Hyères Airport (TLN, 65km, 1h30-2h by road in summer). Neither road option is viable during July-August peak season, when the N98 coastal road reaches gridlock conditions by 10am daily.

The solution is helicopter: Nice NCE to Saint-Tropez heliport (La Mole Airport, VAF, 6km from the village, Heli Air Monaco and Azur Hélicoptères operate regular transfers) takes 18-22 minutes. For clients arriving at Toulon-Hyères, helicopter to Saint-Tropez takes 12-15 minutes. FFGR Jets' Saint-Tropez programme defaults to helicopter arrival as standard — road transfer is offered only when helicopter is client preference.

Résidence de la Pinède, Cheval Blanc, and Saint-Tropez Luxury

Cheval Blanc Saint-Tropez (Pinède Plage, LVMH, 30 rooms, opened 2021, the finest luxury hotel opening on the Riviera in a decade) sits on the private beach where Brigitte Bardot was photographed in 1956 — the beach that launched Saint-Tropez's global reputation. The Blanc Suites (private terrace, sea view, the hotel's signature accommodation) and the Blanc Blanc (the largest suite, private pool, panoramic Golfe de Saint-Tropez views) define the LVMH Riviera luxury standard.

Résidence de la Pinède (Plage de la Bouillabaisse, 39 rooms, Michelin-starred restaurant La Vague d'Or — three Michelin stars, chef Arnaud Donckele, the only three-star restaurant on the Riviera outside Monaco) is the most celebrated fine dining address on the French Riviera. Villa Belrose (Gassin, 37 rooms and suites, hilltop above Saint-Tropez with panoramic bay views, the only Saint-Tropez hotel with unobstructed views of the entire Golfe) is the preferred address for clients seeking quiet elevation above the village bustle.

Pampelonne Beach, Club 55, and the Saint-Tropez Summer Circuit

Pampelonne Beach (6km southeast of Saint-Tropez, 5km of Mediterranean beach, the defining Saint-Tropez summer experience since the Brigitte Bardot era) is the centre of the summer social circuit. Club 55 (Route des Tamaris, Ramatuelle, the original Saint-Tropez beach club, established 1955, founded by Palmyre Racine on the day Bardot was filming And God Created Woman on this beach) is the reference UHNW beach club — unassuming décor, the finest fish, extraordinary rose, and a guest list that is the social register of European UHNW during August.

FFGR Jets Saint-Tropez summer programme: helicopter NCE to La Mole → private yacht transfer from La Mole to the village quay → Cheval Blanc check-in → La Vague d'Or three-star dinner → private Pampelonne beach morning with Club 55 lunch booking → afternoon superyacht charter (departing from Saint-Tropez port, sailing to the Îles d'Hyères and back) → helicopter return to NCE for evening departure. The programme eliminates the road transfer entirely.
