Private Jet to Mykonos: Greece's Most Glamorous Island

16 August 2025·8 min read read

Mykonos has evolved from a bohemian Greek island into one of the world's most densely glamorous summer destinations — a 33 square kilometre Cycladic island that concentrates more UHNW visitors per square metre during July and August than almost any other location on Earth. Private aviation to Mykonos requires understanding a small island airport operating at significant capacity constraints during peak season.

Mykonos Airport: Peak Season Private Aviation Management

Mykonos Island National Airport (JMK, 3km southeast of Mykonos Town) has a single runway (2,000m) that limits aircraft size — wide-body jets cannot operate at JMK. Maximum practical aircraft for Mykonos direct is a large cabin midsize (Bombardier Challenger 350, Cessna Citation X, Dassault Falcon 2000) or smaller. For clients travelling from continental Europe on a Gulfstream G650 or Global 7500, the preferred approach is to fly to Athens Eleftherios Venizelos Airport (ATH) and transfer by private helicopter (25 minutes Mykonos) or by a smaller charter aircraft.

Peak season (June-August) JMK slot requests require minimum 6-8 weeks advance booking. The airport has limited hangar facilities — aircraft overnight at Athens ATH with same-day positioning as required. Ground transport from JMK to Mykonos Town and the major hotel areas takes 8-12 minutes.

Cavo Tagoo, Myconian Villa Collection, and Mykonos Luxury Accommodation

Cavo Tagoo Mykonos (Tagoo, 72 rooms and suites and villas, the overwater suite with private plunge pool suspended over the Aegean is the most photographed room in Greece) is the island's most iconic luxury hotel. The infinity pool, the MOZAIK restaurant, and the Cavo Tagoo Cabo restaurant (beach side) make it the reference Mykonos address. Bill & Coo Mykonos (Megali Ammos, 31 suites, minimal design, adults-only, one of only three Mykonos Michelin-starred restaurants — Bill & Coo restaurant, Chef Giorgos Xenakis) is the island's most refined luxury hotel.

Kalesma Mykonos (Ano Mera, 27 villas, hillside position with panoramic Aegean views, adults-only, the most private Mykonos property) offers a retreat from the island's social circuit — the private villa pools, the silence of the hilltop position, and the absence of beach club noise make it the preferred choice for UHNW clients seeking restoration over entertainment. Myconian Korali (Elia, Relais & Châteaux, 38 suites and villas, private beach access at Elia — the most sheltered and refined of Mykonos beaches) combines beach positioning with Relais & Châteaux service standards.

Nammos, Scorpios, and the Mykonos UHNW Beach Circuit

Nammos Beach Club (Psarou Beach, the original UHNW Mykonos beach club, superyacht anchoring in the bay, the Nammos Village luxury retail precinct adjacent) is the reference Mykonos social hub — an August Friday at Nammos concentrates the international jet set in a way found nowhere else in summer Europe. Psarou Beach's 200-metre arc is the anchoring point for the largest private yachts in the Mediterranean during Mykonos season.

Scorpios Mykonos (Paraga Beach, the most atmospheric of the Mykonos beach clubs, sunset ritual with live DJ, organic Greek food, the finest Mykonos wine selection) attracts a more creatively oriented UHNW guest than Nammos — fashion, music, and art industry clients. FFGR Jets Mykonos programme: private jet to JMK or helicopter from ATH → Cavo Tagoo suite → Nammos Psarou Beach lunch → afternoon superyacht charter (anchoring in Delos — the mythological birthplace of Apollo, an uninhabited island UNESCO World Heritage site) → Scorpios sunset → Bill & Coo dinner.
