Private Jet Charter to Morocco: Casablanca, Marrakech, Fès and the Kingdom by Air

26 May 2025·7 min read read

Morocco has always been singular — a kingdom that feels simultaneously ancient and modern, African and Mediterranean, Berber and Arab and French. What has changed in recent years is its positioning at the highest level of luxury travel. The Mandarin Oriental Marrakech, the Royal Mansour, and the Four Seasons Casablanca anchor a hospitality circuit that competes directly with the finest European destinations. Private aviation shortens the journey from Paris to Marrakech to two hours fifteen minutes and makes the multi-city kingdom circuit — impossible on commercial aviation — a logical weekend itinerary.

Casablanca: Mohammed V and the Commercial Capital

Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) handles private aviation through a dedicated general aviation terminal. Casablanca is Morocco's financial and commercial hub — where the country's largest family offices, investment funds, and diplomatic missions are concentrated. It is the natural arrival point for corporate charter and for clients combining a Morocco visit with meetings in Rabat (50 minutes by road) or agenda items in the Casablanca business district.

For leisure clients, Casablanca is often underestimated: the Corniche, the Hassan II Mosque (the seventh largest in the world, built over the Atlantic), and the Art Déco city centre are worth a half-day. The Rick's Café — an authentic recreation of the film's Casablanca — is a reliable dinner. But most UHNW clients use Casablanca as an arrival point, continuing south by private helicopter or road to Marrakech.

Marrakech: Ménara and the Red City

Marrakech Ménara (RAK) is the dominant private aviation gateway in Morocco, processing thousands of private movements annually during peak season (October–April, and July–August). The general aviation terminal is fully equipped; handling agents Swissport and Jetex provide FBO services. The 20-minute transfer from the airport to the medina or the Palmeraie district makes Marrakech one of the most efficient private aviation destinations in Africa.

Marrakech at the UHNW level means the Royal Mansour — a private riad city within the city, the personal property of King Mohammed VI — or the Amanjena, set around a turquoise lake outside the walls. The Jemaa el-Fna, the souks of the medina, and the Atlas mountains at the city's southern edge create an itinerary impossible to replicate elsewhere. FFGR Jets has extensive ground operator experience in Marrakech, arranging everything from private hammam ceremonies to Atlas hiking and private desert camps.

Fès, Essaouira and the Kingdom Circuit

Fès Saïss (FEZ) gives direct access to Fès el-Bali — the world's largest living medieval city, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and arguably the most complete surviving mediaeval urban fabric on earth. The tanneries, the madrasas, the souks of silk and leather — Fès requires a minimum of two days and a highly informed guide. Private aviation makes a Fès day-trip from Marrakech or Casablanca possible in about 40 minutes.

Essaouira (ESU) is a smaller airstrip accepting turboprops and very light jets, positioned on the Atlantic coast 2h30 by road from Marrakech. This is coastal Morocco at its most relaxed: Portuguese fortifications, wind-sculpted argan trees, and one of the world's premier kite-surfing spots. Essaouira has attracted a creative residency scene — artists, musicians, writers — that gives it a character distinct from Marrakech's palatial grandeur. A multi-city Morocco programme — Casablanca, Marrakech, Fès, Essaouira — navigated by FFGR Jets across a five-day itinerary, is one of the most complete luxury experiences in the region.
