Cape Town has established itself as Africa's premier UHNW destination over the past decade, combining extraordinary natural geography (Table Mountain, the Cape Peninsula, two oceans meeting at Cape Point), a world-class wine region within 45 minutes of the city, and a culinary scene that now consistently features in global top-50 restaurant rankings. The southern hemisphere winter (June-August) coincides with Europe's summer, making Cape Town a natural counter-season destination for the European UHNW clientele.
Cape Town International Airport: Private Aviation Infrastructure
Cape Town International Airport (CPT) handles private jet traffic primarily through the general aviation apron on the northern edge of the field. FBO options are more limited than major European hubs — Execujet South Africa and National Airways Corporation (NAC) are the established handlers. Transfer time to the V&A Waterfront or the Atlantic Seaboard (De Waterkant, Sea Point) is approximately 25 minutes; to Constantia and the southern suburbs, 35 minutes.
Ultra-long-range aircraft are essential for direct service from Europe: the Paris–Cape Town sector is approximately 11 hours, London–Cape Town approximately 11h30. The Gulfstream G700, Bombardier Global 7500, and Dassault Falcon 10X are the primary aircraft categories for non-stop European service. FFGR Jets structures Cape Town programmes with careful attention to aircraft range — some lighter long-range jets require a technical stop at Nairobi or Luanda.
The Atlantic Seaboard and Table Mountain
The Atlantic Seaboard — Clifton, Camps Bay, Bantry Bay — is the UHNW residential and hotel geography of Cape Town, combining the finest beaches with direct views of the Twelve Apostles mountain range. Silo Hotel (within the grain silo complex at the V&A Waterfront, the contemporary art reference) and Ellerman House (11-room private house above Bantry Bay with arguably the finest view in the city) are the two defining UHNW properties. One&Only Cape Town anchors the V&A Waterfront end of the spectrum.
Table Mountain access via aerial cableway (weather-dependent; clear days are non-negotiable) provides the single most dramatic urban landscape experience in Africa. The 360-degree view from the 1,086-metre summit encompasses the Cape Peninsula to the south, Table Bay and Robben Island to the north, and the Atlantic and Indian Oceans stretching to both horizons.
Stellenbosch and the Cape Winelands
The Cape Winelands — Stellenbosch (Cabernet-dominant), Franschhoek (the Huguenot valley, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir), and Paarl — are accessible in 45-60 minutes from Cape Town. The density of exceptional wine estates within this compact geography is extraordinary: Waterford, Meerlust, Kanonkop, Rupert & Rothschild, Boekenhoutskloof, and Adi Badenhorst represent the top tier of Stellenbosch/Swartland quality.
Franschhoek in particular has evolved into a culinary destination of international standing. The Test Kitchen (Luke Dale Roberts's flagship, previously number 1 in Africa for five consecutive years), La Petite Colombe, and The Tasting Room at Le Quartier Français cluster the finest cooking in the Western Cape within a single small town. FFGR Jets arranges private estate tours with winemakers and private chef experiences at estate properties.
The Cape Peninsula Circuit
The Cape Peninsula drive — Hout Bay through Chapman's Peak to Kommetjie and Cape Point — is one of the world's great road journeys: 75 kilometres of cliff-edge coastal road with views over both oceans. Cape Point, the southwesternmost tip of Africa, sits within the Cape Floral Kingdom UNESCO World Heritage Site — the smallest and most biodiverse of the world's six floral kingdoms.
The Boulder's Beach penguin colony near Simon's Town (approximately 3,000 African penguins in a permanent breeding colony) and the whale-watching circuit from Hermanus (60 minutes east of Cape Town, the best land-based whale watching in the world during July-November) complete the natural history programme. FFGR Jets recommends minimum 6 nights in Cape Town to cover the city, winelands, and peninsula circuit with appropriate depth.
