France holds a singular position in private aviation: its geography compresses four entirely distinct luxury worlds — the cultural capital, the Mediterranean coast, the Alpine ski circuit, and the Atlantic wine country — within a country navigable, by private jet, end-to-end in under an hour. Le Bourget in the morning, Nice in the afternoon, Courchevel at dusk. No charter destination in the world offers this concentration of world-class experiences within a single national airspace.
Paris: Le Bourget and the City of Light
Le Bourget Airport (LBG) is the premier private aviation facility in continental Europe — the largest private terminal on the continent, handling over 30,000 private movements annually. Its position north-east of Paris places it 25 minutes from the 1st arrondissement in low-traffic conditions. Signature, Jet Aviation, and Aéroports de Paris each operate FBO facilities with bespoke arrival lounges, fleet storage, and customs on demand. For clients requiring an even closer arrival, Paris Vatry (XCR) handles private jets 145km south-east of the city.
Paris at the luxury level requires no introduction, but the logistics of a private arrival at Le Bourget change the experience structurally. No security queues, no terminal crowds, a car delivered to the aircraft steps — the transition from airside to the Hôtel de Crillon or the Peninsula is frictionless. FFGR Jets coordinates the full Paris arrival: Le Bourget handling, a ground fleet positioned for the apron, and — where required — advance reservation at Parisian Maison tables that require lead times measured in weeks.
Côte d'Azur: Nice, Cannes, and the Riviera Circuit
Nice Côte d'Azur (NCE) and Cannes Mandelieu (CEQ) together serve the Riviera's private aviation demand. Nice is the larger gateway with full FBO facilities and customs; Cannes Mandelieu handles smaller jets and positions clients directly into the Croisette and the Film Festival circuit. Cap-Ferrat, Monaco, Antibes, and Saint-Tropez (accessible by helicopter from Nice or by road) are the anchors of the summer Riviera programme. FFGR Jets coordinates Cannes Film Festival logistics, Monaco Grand Prix arrivals, and the full summer circuit from late May through September.
In the off-season, the Riviera remains extraordinary — mild winters, fewer crowds, and the Michelin-starred restaurants that define Mediterranean gastronomy at its peak (Louis XV in Monaco, Mirazur in Menton, Flaveur in Nice). Private aviation in the off-season on the Riviera typically commands better aircraft availability and more competitive pricing than the July–August peak.
The French Alps: Courchevel, Megève, and Val d'Isère
Courchevel Altiport (CVF) is one of the most dramatic airport approaches in the world — a 537-metre uphill strip at 2,008 metres altitude, requiring specific type ratings and a 30-knot headwind restriction. Only a restricted list of aircraft — primarily King Air and Pilatus PC-12 turboprops — can use Courchevel directly. Larger jets land at Chambéry (CMF), Geneva (GVA), or Grenoble (GNB), followed by a helicopter transfer to the resort. FFGR Jets manages the full alpine transfer: aircraft, helicopter, and a ground programme at the chalet.
Megève has its own small airstrip (MVV) accepting light turboprops from Le Bourget in about 50 minutes. Val d'Isère is served by road from Chambéry (2h) or helicopter from Geneva. The French Alpine ski season runs December through early April, with the peak (Christmas, New Year, February school holidays) requiring aircraft commitments six to eight weeks in advance. FFGR offers dedicated ski season programmes with fixed pricing for the full season.
Bordeaux and the Atlantic Coast
Bordeaux Mérignac (BOD) is a capable private aviation facility with full FBO handling, positioned in the centre of the world's most prestigious wine country. The Médoc châteaux — Pétrus, Margaux, Lafite Rothschild, Mouton Rothschild — are accessible within 45 minutes of the FBO. Private château visits for UHNW clients — barrel tastings at négociant level, library wine access, overnight accommodation in the estate maison — are arranged by FFGR Jets in advance of arrival.
The Atlantic coast south of Bordeaux — Arcachon, Biarritz — extends the programme into summer beach and surfing culture. Biarritz Pays Basque (BIQ) is the closest airport to the Basque coast. A Bordeaux-centred itinerary can combine the wine estates, the Dune du Pilat (Europe's highest sand dune), and a Basque coastal experience within two or three days, all with a single aircraft.
