Paris to London by Private Jet: Le Bourget, Luton, Farnborough, and the City-Pair Analysis

27 May 2025·7 min read read

Paris and London are connected by more private aviation movements than any other city-pair in Europe. The Eurostar reduced leisure traffic but never touched the executive layer: the client who needs to attend a board meeting in Mayfair at 09h00 and a dinner in the 8th arrondissement the same evening does not take the train. The speed advantage of private aviation on this route is not about flight time — it is about terminal-to-meeting time. Le Bourget to Mayfair by helicopter or car takes 35–45 minutes; Heathrow Terminal 5 by car in peak traffic can take twice that just from the terminal to the motorway. FFGR Jets operates Paris–London and London–Paris as one of its core daily programmes.

Le Bourget: Paris's Dominant Private Hub

Paris Le Bourget Airport (LBG) is Europe's busiest private aviation airport by movements — and the natural anchor for private travel to Paris. The private terminals — Signature, Paris Jet Services, and the dedicated Hautes-Glaces terminal — are minutes apart and offer full concierge services: customs on arrival, ground fleet staging, and direct connection to the A1 motorway towards Paris. A helicopter from Le Bourget to central Paris takes 12–18 minutes; a luxury car, 30–45 minutes depending on the time of day.

Le Bourget's proximity to the Plaine de France means that the largest aircraft in the FFGR Jets fleet — Global 7500, Gulfstream G700 — can land without restriction. There are no runway length constraints, no curfews, and no noise restrictions that affect the departure windows. For early morning and late evening movements — the most common pattern for Paris–London same-day travel — Le Bourget is unmatched.

London's Private Terminals: Farnborough, Luton, Biggin Hill, and Northolt

London has no single dominant private aviation hub equivalent to Le Bourget. The preferred terminal depends on the destination within Greater London and the type of aircraft. Farnborough (FAB) is the choice for clients heading to the City, Canary Wharf, or west London: the TAG terminal is among the best in Europe, and the M3 corridor to central London is consistently faster than any other approach. Luton (LTN) serves clients heading to north London, Hertfordshire, or needing same-day connections via the Thameslink. Biggin Hill (BQH) — small, quiet, specialist — suits light jets and clients heading to Kent or south London. Northolt (NHT) is the closest private airfield to Mayfair and Kensington but is heavily restricted: military priorities apply, and slots require advance booking through the Ministry of Defence.

For Paris–London, FFGR Jets' standard recommendation is Le Bourget to Farnborough for the fastest city-centre-to-city-centre time, or Le Bourget to Luton for clients with north London destinations or onward rail connections. Both pairings are equally available in light jets — the most common aircraft for this sector given the 45-minute flight time and the relatively small passenger manifests typical of executive travel.

The Flight: Aircraft Selection and Costs

The Paris–London sector takes 40–55 minutes in a light jet and 50–65 minutes in a turboprop. For one to four passengers, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ or Pilatus PC-24 are ideal: low cost, fast turnaround, and sufficient comfort for the distance. For five to eight passengers, a Hawker 800XP or Embraer Phenom 300 provides a more spacious cabin without materially increasing cost. Large-cabin aircraft — Gulfstream G550, Dassault Falcon 900 — are rarely warranted for this sector except when combined with a transatlantic routing.

Pricing for a light jet Paris–London (one-way, including fees) runs EUR 3,500–6,500 depending on aircraft availability and booking lead time. Empty legs between Paris and London are among the most frequently available in Europe — FFGR Jets maintains a real-time empty-leg feed for this corridor, allowing clients to access the route at 30–50% of standard charter pricing when schedule flexibility exists. A same-day return — departing Paris at 07h00, London departure at 18h00 — is the most common programme, and FFGR Jets handles this as a single booking with the same crew and aircraft held throughout the day.
